Civil Engineered Around the Array

  • One Integrated Partner - Civil, electrical, and structural all live under one roof and one Project Manager, held to the highest quality standards in the industry. That means no hand-offs or gaps between vendors, no dropped details between disciplines, no finger-pointing when the schedule slips.
  • Site Risk Surfaced Early - Our feasibility screening flags wetlands, flood, zoning, bedrock, and ordinance killers before you commit capital to a parcel. We identify the fatal flaws up front, so you invest in sites that can actually be built, not ones that stall in due diligence or early stage development.
  • Built Around the PV - Civil is designed to seamlessly integrate with the array, the buildable area, and the interconnection package, not in a vacuum. Every grading, drainage, and access decision serves the energy design, protecting yield and keeping the project constructible with an increased focus on low impact development techniques.

One Accountable Team, Start to Finish

  • One Firm, Many Disciplines - Pure Power leads every meeting and owns the schedule from kickoff to close. You never chase a separate electrical, structural, or civil shop. A single accountable team keeps every discipline aligned and moving.
  • Jurisdiction Fluency - We deeply understand local AHJ permitting, zoning overlays, solar ordinances, and state and local stormwater rules. That fluency means fewer permitting surprises, cleaner submittals, and approvals that hold up the first time.

In today's utility-scale solar market, developers, EPCs, and asset owners face increasing pressure to reduce project costs while maintaining long-term reliability and performance. One of the most significant opportunities for value engineering..

Solar engineering is often seen as a simple exercise of cutting installation costs. In reality, far more is at stake. Value engineering is the process of reducing costs while carefully balancing impacts on quality, performance, and long-term..

Energy storage can be the “Swiss-army knife” of the electricity grid. Reports for more than a decade have demonstrated the value storage can provide. But now that states have moved from piloting energy storage to adopting it at scale, there is a..

Solar carports may look deceptively familiar to rooftop or ground mount projects: steel, modules, inverters, conduits. But not so fast! Treating carports that way is one of the most direct paths to rework, delays, and uncomfortable conversations..

FAQ's

Questions? Answered

Civil engineering covers the land, site, and water aspects of getting a solar or storage project built — from site feasibility through construction completion. Pure Power's civil services span site feasibility and due diligence, conceptual site planning, stormwater and drainage design, land use permitting, and construction administration. It's the discipline that makes the ground ready and the site plan approvable, nationwide.

Pure Power performs hydraulic and hydrologic analyses that model how water moves across a site, then designs stormwater management systems for detention, treatment, and conveyance. Quantifying drainage behavior up front prevents erosion, flooding, and permit problems later. This work is essential for ground-mounted and utility-scale projects where large areas change how a site sheds water.

Yes. Pure Power provides land use permitting design with engineered, construction-ready plans, plus permit support that includes agency coordination and submissions. This helps move a project through the approval process with authorities and reduces back-and-forth delays. The team also produces detailed civil construction documents and specifications for the build.

Yes. Pure Power offers construction administration, including submittal review, handling Requests for Information (RFIs), and site coordination oversight during the building phases. Staying involved through construction keeps the built work aligned with the engineered plans. It also gives contractors a responsive engineering point of contact when questions arise in the field.

Pure Power provides civil engineering for commercial and industrial (C&I) solar, utility-scale solar, community solar, solar carports, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, and repowering projects. With 130+ in-house engineers including 58+ Professional Engineers and Project Managers specialized in renewable energy, the firm supports civil scopes on projects across the country.
