What risks are associated with repowering, and how do you mitigate them? I think the biggest risk to the customer undertaking a project like this would be the downtime associated with the build. So we want to work with the customer and come up with a game plan that allows for an efficient schedule, an efficient build, and an understanding of lead times for the different equipment and project scheduling needs. Are there any regulatory challenges involved in repowering projects, Question one is:
What is the code cycle that the AHJ will require? The way we ask that question is, do they consider it to be a quote, โrepairโ, which implies and it would be confirmed by the AHJ that building to the previous code cycle, when the project was originally installed, that that would be acceptable. It is possible that the AHJ will require a build to the current code cycle and if that is the case, then obviously the project needs to be evaluated with that in consideration and the new system may differ from the old system in some technical ways. It's more of a problem for rooftops, I would say, than for carports and ground mounts. Also have to consider the building codes and the fire codes.
