Microgrid deployment brings more players to the table, and aligning them takes more than just technical know-how. It demands structure, persistent communication, and stakeholder buy-in from the beginning.
From Ethernet switch protocols to off-grid load profiles, every detail matters โ and Pure Power's approach is built on clarity, coordination, and upfront collaboration.

How do you engage different stakeholders during the development and deployment of a microgrid? That's a great question. It's a key consideration because there are more players involved in the design process. Maybe not so much the construction but certainly for the design. There needs to be someone in design that provides some guidance. Structure for everyone, makes sure that everyone has what they need. That the right people have asked each other the right questions. That the equipment that we've specified meets the requirements for their equipment. Does the switchboard we specified have the right low voltage bus 24, 48V? How many ports do you need in your ethernet switch? What's the protocol you need for your communications? Things like that. We have to ask every single stakeholder exactly what they need and we have to get buy-in from everyone. And we have to make sure everyone's on the same page. So that takes a lot of coordination and effort and it requires high communication skills and sometimes persistence. Getting the answers and the sign-off we need from certain stakeholders.
What are some of the primary design challenges that you face when integrating microgrids with solar and storage solutions? There are a lot of challenges that are unique to microgrids and much of it has to do with understanding the customer's operational intent, their sequence of operations, the load profile. Getting a good handle on the loads that need to be supplied in off-grid mode. That takes a good amount of development on the front-end. We work with our customers as much as we can before providing a proposal to understand their needs and what their goals are, what the end user's goals are.
