Repowering 101: Initial Assessments

Initial assessments are the key to a successful solar + storage repowering project. At Pure Power, we don't just perform site visits; we thoroughly analyze your system's performance data and as-built documentation and collaborate closely with your O&M teams to understand how the equipment functions. Our detailed feasibility study provides customized design options to improve efficiency, minimize downtime, and extend the life of your project. Our tailored approach ensures you have the insights needed to make informed, value-driven decisions that maximize your project's ROI and long-term success.

Go out to site, perform a site visit, evaluate the existing conditions. We want to review existing project documentation, the as-built drawings, any studies, any existing studies. There's performance data like PVSYST data, racking drawings, other structural drawings, if they are available. Input from O&M is also very valuable to us. They tell us how things are working and their opinions on how the existing equipment is working for them. Ways that the equipment could have been built better and they often come up with ideas that we incorporate into our designs as well. Typically, what we provide for initial assessment is a feasibility study report for solar retrofits or repower projects. In this report, we summarize the existing conditions, and then we provide design options for the customer. The optionality is important we try to give the customer the information they need to make an informed decision. The scope of work that they wish to undertake for this particular retrofit project and it varies depending on the customer's needs.
